Strange TightVNC problem while fullscreen

When I run TightVNC in fullscreen, the left mouse button doesn't get sent to the server. Also, the F8 key does not respond even locally, so I have to switch to a terminal Alt-Ctrl-F(x) style and manually kill it. Are there any ways to get this to run normally? In windowed mode, it is not a problem, but there's all this window manager stuff in the way of viewing a server with my same resolution

Thank you all in advance!
