Strange thing about pine

I was playing with Pine when I discovered that I can sent mail using a remote SMTP server.
My ISP is called "AEI" (the host name is aei.ca), so I tried to send mail using it... since pine is not asking for password this was suppose to fail.
First, using "mail.aei.ca" as server name and "aei.ca" as domain suceed but (here's the strange part) in the msg I sent me, the source adress was "root@aei.ca". "Root" is, of course, not the name of the mail account I am using at my ISP. But using pine, I can use a "fake" username, so I can, if I want to, start spamming people. Maybe the problem is something weird about my provider (or a stupid bug about smtp? I haven't read RFC yet) but it is really dangerous, and annoying since I had to create an account named (as example) Half_Elf on my box, in order to send mail using my real account "Half_Elf@aei.ca" (if you want to spam me, this is not my real mail adress, of course) with pine.
Is there something I can do to force pine using my "real" account, and not adding the local username to the remote domain name?
And should I msg my provider about that weird thing (or start spamming people?) ? :)

In the configuration screen (from the main window do S then C)
set customized-hdrs to

From: "your name" <your email address>

That should do the trick.

For it to work, i believe you must select "Rich Header Mode" by pressing Ctrl-R when you compose a message.

Because I typed a space between "my name" and <my adrr> pine was not taking it.

Thank you all :)
