on my new laptop ( sager n2092 ) I am having a strange issue with the highlighted text copy/paste buffer. When I start X and fluxbox it works : I can highlight some text, then click both mouse buttons at once and it will paste the highlighted text into another application. This has worked on every machine I have had in the past few years without a problem.

the problem now with this laptop is that at an indeterminent time/event this functionality just stops working. I will be in the middle of doing something and all of a sudden when I try to paste from my highlighted buffer it just wont paste. I have to restart X in order to be able to paste from this buffer again which as you can imagine is really annoying.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I am also wondering what exactly controls this buffer. Is it X?
any hints/tips would be really appreciated because this is driving me crazy.

Probably X yes. Check the end of /var/log/X.log.0

I checked there. nothing out of the ordinary
