Strange crash

Hi,

I've just seen something that never seen before.
The system is Slackware 13.37 / AMD 64bit / KDE / 12GB RAM
It was running ok before, with more than month uptimes.

Video: http://youtu.be/5djWg84jY6U

At that time the running programs was Firefox 13.0.1 (About 20 tabs), Amarok 2.4.0 (streaming radio), Terminal emulator (4 tabs, ssh, mc, mc root, just left open). One small pop in the speaker and the sound is gone, keyboard and mouse not responding. No blinking LED's. Didn't checked with network because my tablet is on different network, just clicked reset button.

First boot after that:

Kernel panic! Blinking LED's.

After one more reset everything is fine. No errors on disk, nothing.

Anyone saw something similar before? Any idea? Or it's just weird crash?

If everything's working fine now, it will be difficult to track this down. Intermittent and occasional problems are the worse kind to troubleshoot.

You could take a look at /var/log/messages--that might provide a hint.

Checked! Nothing unusual in logs, everything is ok. But, did you watch the video? Upper left corner? I'm sure there is a connection...

Wow, that is the most bizarre visual artifact i think i have ever seen. It almost looks like a monitor malfunction.

Yeah, that's the reason I started this question. Never seen nothing similar to this, and it's scary, spookie, bizarre, name it...

Btw, monitor is Samsung P2370HD

Have you tried a google search on that monitor model number? Maybe its some kind of monitor diagnostic that got triggered accidentally.
