pls. help!

i have installed the Storm linux 2000 on my pc but im having some errors when im trying to install the applications already. the guide says run "./INSTALL.bin" but everytime i did it theres an error saying "./INSTALL.bin: tempfile: Read only file system" and one more thing do anybody of you knows what is the password for the Stormix website coz i cant seem to log in there. thanks for any help you can offer me

where are you installing these apps from? a cd or from the hard disk? if they state that they are read-only and your trying to install from a cd, are you indicating where you want to install the program? or have you tried copying the program from the cd to the hard disk, then try to install from there?

and if its on the hard disk already, you need to set the permissions from read-only to read and execute. if you do a ls- al in the directory of the file to be installed, you should find the permissions level of the file. to change the permissions use the chmod command. man chmod for help.
