Question Stops responding during install

I am trying to install Mandrake 9.2 on an old 300MHz computer with a 3GB HD. The hard drive has no other OS on it and is formatted in Fat32.
It installs the mouse, but before it gets to the screen where it asks if I am upgrading or installing it stops. My mouse works and I see the "clock" cursor.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

How much RAM does this PC have? I believe Mandrake has some sick requirements fro all its GUI fun, such as the installer.

That should be plenty. You might want to try booting into a shell with a Live CD...gentoo's Live CD works good, or Knoppix would probably work. Then just format the drive with:

Code:
cfdisk /dev/hda
or

Code:
fdisk /dev/hda
Make your whole drive as a primary Ext2 Linux filesystem...and don't forget to write the changes. Then boot up Mandrake installer again and see if you have any luck
