Stopping auto updates

i am using F9 64 bit. i want to install updates via yumex instead of auto ones. when i run yum install through terminal yum is already busy. initially it used to show an icon oon the tray and i used to manually disable it. there isnt any icon any more.

please guide.

Under System > Adminstration, there should be a heading called "Services" that has a list of all the running (and disabled) services. Just locate the one that does the updating and uncheck it (probably called yum-updatesd or something like that).
