still trying to install iso

i have been trying for a week to install the iso image (debian sarge netinst.iso). my machine just doesn't see it. i followed all instructions but it just will not install. i have been using partition magic and boot magic. i created a linux partition on a second hard drive but i couldn't install the iso image on it. when i create it i can see it at boot but the program isn't installed so all i see is trying to load linux. my pc is a hp 4550z, if that makes a difference. i know it's old, but it's all i have.

have you burned it right ? "Burn disk image"

have you checked the md5sum of the cd to see if its a problem with the cd or not ?

have you made the cdrom the first priority in the bios ?
