Still looking for broken pipe sound soulution

SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_START failed: Broken pipe

I am not sure if this is a hardware or software problem. I am posting here as I think it may be a software configuration issue.

The top line is what I receive. I have googled around as well as searching this site and there seems to be a bunch of folks receiving this message. I have not seen an answer. I am getting this with a fresh installation of Slackware 10. I have not touched any config files. Most of what I have seen refers to KDE 3.3. I am using the KDE that came with my Slack, 3.2. This is an out of the box install sith the install everything option.

Has anyone discovered a solution for this.

David
