Steam on Fedora Core 1
 

Hey guys,

Recently rented out a new dedicated server for my gaming, using Steam. www.steampowered.com

Having major lag spikes with it, no matter what settings used - http://jakeh.net/graph.JPG

Also times out on SSH, and closes the connection, CPU usage seems normal, and no other programs are running

Sent a support ticket to my ISP, yet to no avail, so i thought i'd post here.

Its a p4 2.8ghz 512mb ram, was setup yesterday, so pretty much empty on the server except for my steam install. Also, extracting a 455mb .tar.gz took 25 minutes, is this right?

what kind of connection do you have (speed?)? do you use it as a lan server or as an internet server?

It's a 10mbs port and it's internet
