steam error : You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run: libc.so.6


i m using lubuntu 16.04.
i have tried the following :
sudo apt-get update
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo ln -s /lib64/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 /lib64/libc.so.6
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
sudo apt-get install lib32z1
sudo apt-get install lib32ncurses5

steam doesnt start
it shows the error :
You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run:
libc.so.6

Check your library path and verify that the lib is in this path.
Depending on your archiecture e.g arm, intel, some libs may reside in different directories.

ia32-libs isn't used anymore AFAIK. You need libc6:i386 and probably other :i386 packages.

Also, I have no idea why you did this (you apparently followed an outdated guide):

sudo ln -s /lib64/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 /lib64/libc.so.6

You can try this may work.
sudo apt-get install libc6-i386

notings working

a guide told to do so : sudo ln -s /lib64/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 /lib64/libc.so.6
