Unhappy Steam Counter Strike and Half LIfe 2 Backup

I would like to know if it is possible for me to back-up steam in Windows and then using Cedega port it to Fedora 4?

When I try to run the backup file it comes up with an error.

The error looks like this:

X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
Major opcode of failed request: 2 (x_ChangeWindowAttributes)
Resource id in failed request: 194
Current serial number in output stream: 196

Any help would be appreciated.

Wouldn't your best bet be, in Windows, use the Steam backup utility to back up your game data, then reinstall Steam from fresh on linux under Cedega or Wine or whatever and then import the game backups? That way you're doing everything the "official" way and if things still don't work you're in a good position to get support through the official channels

I did back-up steam in windows and have now got as far as starting the game but when u do start it it says that the game is unavailable. I have a troubleshoot that says that I have to delete the ClientRegistry.blob. I just wanted to know if it creates a new ClientRegistry.blob whenever I start up my computer.
