Statistics from stdin?

I have a number of text files that I'd like to generate statistics (max/min/mean/stddev/top 10%) of. Is there a program which can read these in from stdin and generate statistics on them?

I don't fancy importing every file one-by-one into OOo or Excel and generating the statistics by hand, as that would be rather slow.

Cheers.
