Static, Distorted Sound
I've searched and searched and searched, but I can't find the answer to this...
Using ALSA, aRTs, OSS, or eSound, my sound ALWAYS has a static like distortion to it...
I had this problem with RH9, RH9.1, Fedora, and now on Slackware, so I would like to settle this once and for all....
I am using a Hercules Fortissimo II sound card, and this is what "lspci -v" outputs for the information on my sound card:
01:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: Cirrus Logic CS 4614/22/24 [CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Hercules: Unknown device a010
Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 32, IRQ 9
Memory at e8104000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
Memory at e8000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2[/quote[
On a different computer I had the same problems with a Hercules Game Theater XP, which I believe uses the same Cirrus Logic chipset, so I think it is a problem with the drivers.
Are there any better drivers out there? Is there something wrong with my configuration?
I've tried "alsaconf", but that didn't fix it either...
Thanks.
