starting mysql with system startup.


hi all,

i installed mysql, from mysql-5.1.31-linux-x86_64-glibc23.tar.gz,
and for installing followed steps given INSTALL-BINARY file,

now i am starting mysql perfectly using command,
Code:
 mysqld_safe --user=mysql &
but i want to start mysql service when system boots or system startup.

thanks in advance.

Grab an init file from your distro's package and modify the paths to match your tarball install and then install it to your init dir.

You didn't say what distro you're using.
Anyway there is a startup scrpt (mysql.server) located under the subdir support-files in the directory created where you extracted the mysql-5.1.31-linux-x86_64-glibc23.tar.gz.
