Starting application maximized (OpenOffice.org)?

Is there a standard way to start a X application maximized?

What I'm trying to do is setup a system where people can log in to XDM (via VNC) and get OpenOffice.org right away - no other apps, no window manager.

Unfortunately, OOo doesn't start maximized, and it looks stupid.

OOo itself doesn't appear to have a height/width command-line parameter - is there a wrapper program or something I could use to for OOo to start fullscreen?

Alternative solutions might work, like using TWM or something but stripping out most of the functionality. That doesn't seem like the best solution though.

Maybe you should use kwin. Then you can use the application kstart to open OOo in fullscreen.

I'd go for a stripped down fluxbox 0.1.14 (including
remember patch) with exit as the only menu entry, and
use its remember patch to have OO run full-screen :)

Cheers,
Tink
