installing acidrip

The following is what happens installing acidrip-0.10
Preface:
MDK 9.1 died do I disconnected the harddrive (partitions overlapping, will deal with it another day) and installed Suze 9.1.
So, there appears to be a lot of files still needed.

don@linux:~/acidrip-0.12> perl Makefile.PL
Warning: prerequisite Glib 1 not found.
Warning: prerequisite Gtk2 1 not found.
Writing Makefile for AcidRip

Running additional test to be sure acidrip will work
test for lsdvd: Not Found!

The best I know the 'lsdvd' install was successful.
Maybe has to do with 'path.' I need help in doing this.

Selected 'glib' and 'gtk' in software install and they seem to be installed already.

as you can tell i'm not real knowledgeable about this stuff.
So, any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
dlw

AcidRip needs my little app "lsdvd" in order to see what is on your dvd's
Download it and install it (and libdvdread) before trying to use AcidRip.
If it's simply not on your path then set the full path inside AcidRip.

What happens when you run "lsdvd" from the command line?

To install Glib and Gtk2 - run:
perl -MCPAN -eshell

Then at the "cpan>" prompt run:
install Gtk2
install Glib

If I read this correctly, it says (Glib not installed, ExtUtils::PkgConfig not installed).
Well, I hadn't go to 'Glib' yet and ExtUtils::PkgConfig was installed.
It may not be able to find it but I did intall it.

'lsdvd' gave the following:

I'll start over now and see what happens.

I did, to the letter.
However, when I tried Makefile.PL it went south on me.

Now I am confused.
don@linux:~/ExtUtils-PkgConfig-1.05> perl Makefile.PL
***
*** ExtUtils::PkgConfig requires the pkg-config utility, but it doesn't
*** seem to be in your PATH. it is correctly installed?
*** PATH=/home/don/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/bin:/usr/games:/opt/gnome/bin:/opt/kde3/bin:/usr/lib/java/jre/bin
***
When I do a search for pkg-config it finds ExtUtils::PkgConfig.
How can a program reguire itself when its not installed yet.
I'm missing the boat here.

starting acidrip problem

The follow occurs when starting acidrip.

linux:/home/don/acidrip-0.12 # acidrip

Gtk2.pm is installed in ~/.cpan/build/Gtk2-1.043 and /usr/X11R6/share/fvwm/perllib/FVWM/Module

How do I solve this?

Try installing pkg-config from an rpm then install your perl modules again:
ftp://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/SuSE-Lin...0-108.i586.rpm
