Start menu for XFCE?
I have been wondering, is there a start menu (such as the M$ Window$ Vi$ta), something like GnoMenu (Google it if you dont know what it is) but for XFCE. I am making an operating system called Zorin OS lite which might be based on Xubuntu if the start menu is found. The first person who finds it will get a place at the Zorin OS Credits.

XFCE has a start menu---It's called "Xfce Menu" You can install it by right-clicking on the panel.

Well I mean something like this (GnoMenu)

Xfce does support custom menus. As far as one that looks exactly like windows start menu, I have not seen it. I would sujest that you might have to make one yourself using Gnomenu as a templet.

If I set up a system using XFCE, I am typically looking for clean and simple ("lean and mean"). That means I don't want fancy-looking menus.
I suppose it could be viewed as a problem, but sometimes you have to install major chunks of desktop A to get desktop B to do what you want. For example, the hands-down best user switcher is in KDM---but to get that you have to install most of KDE. |
