StarOffice Download

Hi. I have heard you can download old versions of StarOffice for free and I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true??? I was considering trying the old version to see how it differs from OpenOffice, and based on that knowledge and screenshots from the new StarOffice, I would decide whether to buy StarOffice 7. I already considered trying MS Office alongside Crossover Office and I downloaded a trial and absolutly hated it compared to Open Office, I don't care if anyone says OpenOffice is inferior, MS Office sucksv in my opinion :p . Anyways, anyone have any other information on StarOffice and its strengths and weaknesses?

actually, even the latest version of staroffice can be downloaded for free if u are a student. (Yes! its free for students)

that is correct... and actually there's no "proof" that you're a student.. you just click "agree" under the terms and conditions statement...

Just register yourself.. and then you can download it... It's really not a whole lot diff than OpenOffice though... just more templates and clipart, etc..

Doesn't matter, I actually am a student. Yea, I tried downloading it, it is pretty much the same, but it seems torun quicker. Why would anyone buy StarOffice when OpenOffice is practically identical and freely redistributed???

Staroffice contains some extra stuff (stuff added on top of openoffice) like thesaurus on en_UK , and some great gallery items.
