Star Off Install
When I attempt to install the custom (choosing only star "Word") or the minimum pkg. in /home/off52, the following msg appears:
"Not enough disk space on selected drive. Please choose another drive." I know there is enough room, but how do I choose (or what do I choose for) another drive? Please bear with me; I'm very new. :) Thanks for any help, DG |
First of all, try installing to somewhere like /usr/share/off52. You should do this as root because an ordinary user will not have write access to this directory. The /usr/share directory is normally where all the non-essential programs are kept (like XMMS - the Linux WinAmp).
Before we go on though, a few questions:

Re: Star Install
Hey, thanks for the info. I did log in as root to install Star. I can't print my log now as the machine is in my car going for a little trip (to the dump? - no, to school!), but when it's back here later tonight I'll do that and post it.
I've installed to boot up in shell, not Gnome - although I spend most of my time in Gnome. I was told that was the better way to set up the machine. later, DG |
Re: Star
I've entered the code exactly as you wrote and this is what appears: "No such file or directory" However, I will try to install in /usr/share.
Thanks, DG |
