stable MP3 player on Redhat 9+

sounds like a question many may have asked, but i didn't manage to find a specific enough thread on a search so here goes:

I have RH 9.1 and i should point out my experience is with FreeBSD and Cobalt as network devices rather than workstations so I am a n00B at this.

I would like someone to reccomend a good MP3 player.

I noticed that the inbuilt media player wont do the MP3 thang. or MPG video files for that matter. SO i installed Zinf to play the MP3's at least. However, i have found it very unstable and perhaps a bit stupid when it does work. i really hate its playlisting. I for instance have my entire CD collection of 10+ years on my fileserver and Zinf won't handle anything more than a few local files. and, really the interface is dated.

...any help..?
