SSL on RedHat 9.0

I've done a search and read through many gaim install questions and the faq on the gaim site and I do have gaim installed, but the problem is (you know what's coming) that it needs SSL support. Now I'm pretty sure this question has been asked many times and I've tried a few things but I'm really not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do to install this damn SSL. I don't even know what SSL is. a) Can somone tell me what it is and, more importantly, b) where I can download an rpm or some sort of install file that will put it on my computer and how to install it. Thanks in advance and sorry to ask this question again.

You're kidding, right?

Go to http://www.google.com/ and type in 'ssl' (without the quotes), then push the button that says 'I'm Feeling Lucky' (still no quotes).

Or just look on your Redhat install disc for an rpm called openssl-<some-version-numbers>.rpm and install that.

Enjoy!

That was easy, thanks...although hitting the "I'm feeling luck" button was not the best ideas.
