I dont have a monitor hooked up to it so i just do everything from ssh but whenever i ssh into my server its takes like 1-2 min for me to see what i just typed sometime. has anyone else ever had this problem or have any ideas what is going on.

Do you mean it takes 1-2 minutes to connect, or it takes 1-2 minutes to receive an echo back for each keypress?

If the former, try adding your PCs name to the /etc/hosts file on the server. If the latter... well, I don't know about that (unless it only happens after the SSH session has been idle a while, and is reconnecting in the background). You could check to make sure nothing is using up all the network bandwidth to the server.
