ssh: can't connect: no key found?

Starting 2 days ago I can't connect via ssh to this 1 server. It reports:

Quote:
ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer
verbosity yields:

Quote:
key_load_public: No such file or directory
debug1: identity file /home/randomtroll/.ssh/id_ecdsa-cert type -1
for a few certs.

I can ssh to another server. Attempts to connect from it fail similarly.

Does this mean that all the certs in /home/randomtroll/.ssh/ are bad? absent?

it may just be a permission problem in your users .ssh folder ssh is VERY fussy about permissions of files.

Follow the copious directions for setting-up the recipient's .ssh directory, and follow those instructions e-x-a-c-t-l-y. If ssh does not find exactly the filenames and directories that it's looking for, with exactly the right permissions on those things, it will act as though they do not exist at all.

Too bad I can't log in.

I set up this server 17 years ago. I've been logging-in in the interval - until now.
