I'd always associated XFS with huge files on huge disks, but a look at wikipedia revealed the statement "a suitable candidate for the use of an solid-state drive (SSD) device". But it also says that few Linux distros allow grub to be installed on XFS; if that's still true, you'd need a separate ext4 /boot.
