Question Squirrelmail Unknown username


Hi I installed squirrelmail in red hat 7.2 and when i go to my browser and i put www.example.com/webmail and i put the login and the password it says unknown user or incorrect password, i don't know what is the problem if somebody can help me Id appreciate it.

Sounds like an authentication problem. Does Squirrelmail itself, or the webserver you run it under, show any errors in their logs?
Does Squirrelmail need to do autentication against the passwd/shadow files, or a separate login/passwd database?
