Question Squirrel Mail - ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.

Hey,

I'm trying to configure a mail server on my Ubuntu server, with SMTP, IMAP and a webmail interface.

It's all good and tested besides the Squirrel webmail interface that won't work. I used qmail with mysql support and IMAP also with mysql. But when I want to login to squirrel it gives me this error:
Code:
ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.
This is the output for /src/configtest.php:

Code:
This script will try to check some aspects of your SquirrelMail configuration and point you to errors whereever it can find them.
You need to go run conf.pl in the config/ directory first before you run this script.

SquirrelMail may work with them on, but when experiencing stray backslashes in your mail or other strange behaviour, it may be advisable to turn them off.

Capabilities: * CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UIDPLUS CHILDREN NAMESPACE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES SORT QUOTA IDLE AUTH=PLAIN ACL ACL2=UNION
Checking internationalization (i18n) settings...
gettext - Gettext functions are available. On some systems you must have appropriate system locales compiled.
mbstring - Mbstring functions are available.
recode - Recode functions are unavailable.
iconv - Iconv functions are available.
timezone - Webmail users can change their time zone settings.
Checking database functions...
PHP Pear DB support is present.
    mysql database support present.
    preferences database connect successful.
    mysql database support present.
    addressbook database connect successful.
    mysql database support present.
    global addressbook database connect successful.
Congratulations, your SquirrelMail setup looks fine to me!
I have configured and reconfigured "/var/www/squirrelmail/config/conf.pl" but still with no luck.

Also the file "/etc/courier/authmysql" wasn't there and I had to create it (instead there was only a "/etc/courier/authmysql"). I have configured courieri in both of them, but I don't know which is the right one.

Do you have any idea why it won't work right with IMAP ?

Thanks

Can you connect to the imap server from CLI using telnet? Use the following command sequence:
Code:
telnet imap-server 143
1 login username password
1 list "" "*"
1 logout
Since I don't use mysql but openldap for authentication I can only suggest you a few things to check:
I think the correct filename should be authmysqlrc and the auth module name is authmysql. This module should exist in authdaemonrc list of modules.
As for the location, authmysqlrc must coexist along with other authentication modules in the same directory as authdaemonrc (in your case maybe /etc/authlib)
Another thing to check is that myqld is running and the database you created has the correct tables defined (look the README.authmysql.html).
