Squid proxy server--- Please set 'visible_hostname'

My friend install the Redhat 9.0 for me 2 years ago. It is very good OS. I use the HTTP, Email , FTP server. I want to activate the Proxy server : Squid 2.5 , I find some problem : -------------------------------------- Initializing the Squid cache with the command squid -f /etc/squid/squid.conf -z .. FATAL: Could not determine fully qualified hostname. Please set 'visible_hostname' Squid Cache (Version 2.5.STABLE1): Terminated abnormally. CPU Usage: 0.010 seconds = 0.010 user + 0.000 sys Maximum Resident Size: 0 KB Page faults with physical i/o: 395 -------------------------------------- Pls let me know how to determine fully qualified hostname / set 'visible_hostname'? And which file should I need to modify ? Thanks !! Terry |
hi u need to set ur host name what i did was set it in the squid.conf
visible_hostname yourhostname e.g [root@linux ~] here ur hostname will be linux hope it helps |
