Squid + Port Mapping?

Hello all,

I have a linux box configured with a squid proxy on the default port 3128. All users are autheticated using the basic http authentication. Howerver when some on tries to access sites with a nondefault http port such as www.example.com:8080/index.jsp or something of that sort, he is not able to connect to the site.
Will somebody help me on how to allow sites with non-default ports to be connected through squid.

Secondly how to configure IM such as yahoo with voice to connect through squid.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Subodh :-)

squid is a proxy for port 80 and other ports like ftp 21. If you want it to proxy for port 8080 then you need to add that port to the squid.conf file.
