Squid Cache & Filter without Proxy
Hello everyone ;
I have Squid already installed on my linux server , I am using url_regex command to filter some bad sites , but I need to set Proxy server IP address and Port number on my internet explorer to use filtering , now I want to do that without set the Proxy Server IP Address and Port number by set this linux server ( by squid installed on ) as Gateway in my network . please help me . Best Regards, The Persian Patient. |
I do not quite understand your question, but gateway settings and proxy settings are something quite different.
Squid is running as a proxy server in your network, and to use it, you have to enter the proxy ip and port adress in your internet explorer. To use a gateway you have to define routes on the workstation and configure e.g. nat on your server. Does this help you ? |
Hello ,
Thank you for your answer , I want to use squid server without need to set Proxy in my internet explorer . thank you again , The Persian Patient . |
As far as my knowledge reaches, that is not possible.
What would be your consideration not to use the proxy setting ? You can give the proxy adress to your clients automated via dhcp or some other protocol (www.squid-cache.org) that i have no experience with. |
Hello , I found my answer .
