squid and transproxy/iptables --Need your help badly
Ey guys,
I've been experimenting on this for the past 2 weeks from now. I want to setup a transparent proxy for SQUID in which I won't have to configure every clients' browser for the proxy IP and port. All the resources I got from the internet showed me how to configure iptables but I just can't find a way to make it work. I even installed transproxy but still aint working.
Here is the scenario,
I have squid installed in my FC1. With 2 NICs (eth0 192.168.1.150 and eth1 192.168.0.220). The squid proxy is running smoothly only if you configure the web browser for proxy 192.168.0.220 port 3128. My problem is my clients aside from accessing our local mail server, they are also accessing other mail servers via their mail program which I believe is not supported by the proxy.
I also have a windows running with wingate and it sucks. I like Squid more than Wingate so I want to shutdown the Wingate and configure it as a new proxy.
Please guys, I really need your help on this. Hope someone out there is kind enough to help me. I am new to Squid, networking and so with Linux.
