Just taking a shot that someone has seen and solved this problem before. I can't get my buttons on my menu generated using spumux to highlight or show the select font or color. clicking on them starts the movie but because they don't highlight or select I can't tell which one the remote is over when I choose it.
The following is from a tutorial I found by Rick Harris but the results are the same using qdvdauthor.
Here is the output from spumux from the tutorial:
