Hallo. Unfortunately I have to share files with some Windows user. Which is the best spreadsheet to produce files in .xls format? I have GNUMERIC, which came with my slackware 9.1 distro, but it gives me an erroro whenever trying to save in .xls format.

Try Openoffice.org - it's one of the best office suites IMHO
