Spotify does not start and shows “Oops! Something went wrong Spotify” error.

I cannot start Spotify on Linux Redhat Enterprise 8.2; it shows “Oops! Something went wrong” error. If anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this issue, it will be greatly appreciated.

Hello! Before anybody can help you, we need some more information.

Some questions:

1. What operating system are you using, and what is its version?
2. Have you been having any other issues with your system/applications?
3. Where did you install Spotify?
4. Are you opening a Spotify launcher, or are you opening the actual executable file?

UPDATE: I just reread your post, and realized that you mentioned your system. Forget the first question.

Have you started Spotify in Redhats terminal to see if any more info is given?

I just realized. Redhat has paid support. That will be 25 cents please.
Man I work cheap.

Andrewbrownfield : you should do that.

i usually uninstall - reinstall.
if that doesnt work i delete spotify folder from /home/user , that is last thing to do, its pretty extreme.

Also, and this may or may not be helpful: RHEL is not set up for multimedia out of the box. You can make it so, but since you have support, not sure if adding untrusted, third party repos will cause an issue.

As an alternative to installing their client, I think you can just login to your Spotify account via the web and use the browser to play.

Thanks for replying. However, it turns out the issue was not related to Linux. I found this today and realized that I needed to have the same address on my Spotify account that is used on the family plan we are using.
