Spotify crashes frequently

Dear LQ,

I'm running a cross-platform app called spotify in pclinux. Its great but it freezes the desktop quite frequently. I have to open a console and type pkill spotify to unfreeze the system and it unfreezes the system, but it gets tedious doing this all the time.

I was doing a google search on this issue and it turns out this also happens in windows systems as well.

Does anyone know why spotify freezes in linux?

I run spotify on archlinux with no problem (installed using AUR). You might try to uninstall and then re-install. If it is still buggy, you might look at the following post:

Hope this is of some help.
