SpamAssassin on Mandrake 10.1

I am trying to get SpamAssassin tools installed:

[root@mail qmailrocks]# rpm -ivh spamassassin-3.0.1-1.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:spamassassin ########################################### [100%]

[root@mail qmailrocks]# rpm -ivh spamassassin-tools-3.0.1-1.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
perl(Date::Manip) is needed by spamassassin-tools-3.0.1-1
perl(Parse::Syslog) is needed by spamassassin-tools-3.0.1-1
perl(Statistics:istributions) is needed by spamassassin-tools-3.0.1-1

[root@mail qmailrocks]# cpan -i Date::Manip
CPAN: Storable loaded ok
Going to read /root/.cpan/Metadata
Database was generated on Tue, 23 Nov 2004 13:48:49 GMT
Date::Manip is up to date.

[root@mail qmailrocks]# cpan -i Parse::Syslog
CPAN: Storable loaded ok
Going to read /root/.cpan/Metadata
Database was generated on Tue, 23 Nov 2004 13:48:49 GMT
Parse::Syslog is up to date.

[root@mail qmailrocks]# cpan -i Statistics:istributions
CPAN: Storable loaded ok
Going to read /root/.cpan/Metadata

Statistics:istributions is up to date.

RPM gives failed dependencies but when I try to get them from cpan it says they are all up to date.

Any ideas?

perhaps rpm isn't aware of what gets installed without using rpm... i'm not sure...

if that's the case, try using the --nodeps and/or --force options when installing the rpm...

just my two cents...
