I have installed spamassassin on Centos 5.3 but currently it does not appear to be doing anything and all of my attempts to try and find out a definitive configuration guide have been exceptionally confusing as they seem to mention a host of other programs.
The server is running multiple domains and mailboxes, so far, I have done nothing but install the prgram and start the daemon.
Can anyone offer advice on what steps I should take to configure spamassassin or any other programs/additions I should be installing and configuring.
It seems to vary so much from distro to distro and I just cannot seem to find a definitive guide for Centos 5.3.
There are various ways to integrate spamassassin, but the method I prefer is content filtering in postfix, via a utility call amvisd-new. Have a look at http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/
