Spam Assassin help

I'm running Spam Assassin version 3.03 on a Sun Cobalt server that is a RAQ3.

I have Spam Assassin installed and it has been running for awhile now.

I have one user that is complaining about getting a lot of spam. I have a lot of users on this box and he is the only one complaining. I know the global file local.cf is configured because I have made a whitelist change to it before.

I'm a little confused. From what I read I can make a change to the user_prefs file under the user's directory to help with his spam. I entered the test lines the Spam Assassin site listed to test if Spam Assassin is using the user_prefs file, but I don't think it is.

What do I need to do to turn something like this on for one specific user and not affect the other users on the machine?

i always just thought you edit ~/.spamassassin/user_prefs file.

i think spamassassin makes the file itself if it's' not there

There is a user_prefs file there, but it doesn't have anything in it but a definition on the file itself.
