Space Increase

Hi I am attempting to use kaudiocreator to rip a full album that I burnt a while ago before I switched my box. I like using kaudiocreator but when its about 25-30% ripped the application stops complaining that there is not enough space in the /tmp directory, I then started K3B and saw that there is only about 250mb of use in the /tmp directory. My question is how could I increase this space to lets say 1GB?

The only limit to /tmp is the size of the partition that is is on.

I thought so myself but the properties of the file is 250.8MB of 250.9MB so there is a pre-determined size.
