Sounds fails at random in Skype

I don't know why, every now and then the sound fails when I'm using Skype. When I try to make or receive a call, I get the message: Problems with the sound device. And this happens even though a few moments earlier I was speaking with no problems during another call.
I mean, I make/receive a call, everything works just fine, I end the call, I try to make/receive another call, and and I get the message regarding the problem with the sound device...
The only thing I can do is to close/restart Skype lots of times, hoping it will work. Sometimes, I even try rebooting the laptop!

What can I do? Thanx!

This is a rather common problem. I've had the same one. Now I'm using a little program called skype_dsp_hijacker, and skype works fine enough. You can also check the help guide for sound setup on linux on the skype website.
