Is there anyway I can get my SB16 card to work in slack 8.0? (note, this is not a full install, it's Zipslack....)
(please don't preach me on how much Linux on a FAT32 sucks, and how i should repartition, etc, because I don't have the resources, either $$ or bandwidth to get anoter version.)
All you have to do is make sure the info in the /sbin/modprobe line is set to your card. Like is your ' io= ' 0x220 or something else. Is the ' irq= ' 5 or something else. If you only have one dma then delete the other one. After you make the changes, uncomment the line and reboot. Or you could run /sbin/modprobe sb io=0x220 irq=5 dma=3 dma16=5 mpu_io=0x300 , with your changes, at a command prompt. The line I use for my sound blaster 16 wave effects is /sbin/modprobe io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 mpu_io=0x330.
