Sound Questions.
1) I'm using a Creative SoundBlaster live sound card with the kernel sound support. I can only get sound out of the right speaker. Why is this?
2) When kmix is set to halfway up it's volume slider, it's sound is at minimum. How do I adjust the sound so that the minimum level is when the slider is at the bottom. I.e. what sound utilities and config files are available?
Thanks,
Robert Liguori

Hi!!!
Well, you could try to use sndconfig and see if everything looks correct. As for utilities, I believe you meant like volume controls and such? Well, I use basically two, aumix, a very good command line one and gnome-volume-control.
If you've got any of them installed, type either aumix or gnome-volume-control at console and it should open.
Good Luck

Sound in right speaker only.
I still only get sound in the right speaker.
Could it be the adapter? Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

It could be that the sound card is panned all the way to the right for some reason. The mixing programs mentioned above should have some way of setting it. In KDE's kmix, it's the unlabeled slider at the bottom.
It could also be a problem with the electrical connection to the speaker.
Troubleshoot this problem by plugging a set of headphones into the headphone jack and see if you have the same problem. If it works with headphones, it's an electrical connection problem.
