Sound problems

Hi

I am using SuSe 10.2. Everything is perfect apart from some problems i have with sound. First of all, sometimes it won't let me use to audio applications at the same time (e.g. amarok and realplayer). Another problem I have is that when i run skype, it works fine for the first call but then when i call someone i can here him but he can't here me. When i restart the application it works fine. Can anyone help me ?

Thnx

You more than likely need ti install a newer version of alsa. Please run this script and post the link it creates.

If the report shows a version of alsa older than 1.0.14rc3 or 1.0.14rc4, then please download and build from my rpm build environment here. Just untar it, make and run audio_install as root. It will build rpm packages for your environment (if you have the proper build packages installed).

You are right. The version i have is 1.0.12rc1. I downloaded the newer one though and after running make it gave me the following errors:

1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file include/adriver.h.rej
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.221 (%prep)

RPM build errors:
user tobind does not exist - using root

Any ideas on how to do it ?

Thnx
