Sound problem in FC2

-Im having a sound problem in FC2. It will play CD's but when I run XMMS, Volume control, or Music player, it pops up a box "Did you run GST-register?". I dont know what it means and the program doesnt open after that! I also have sound for games.

-In Tux racer the whole screen goes blue after playing for a bit. My graphics are installed good too

-How would I get video playback for linux?

If you could help with any of them it would be much appreciated

check for sound controls..some where it may be muted.
i don't know what the exact problem is but i would say just go for reintalling the xmms. first unistall the previous version and then get a rpm or tar file soem reliable source...

If you have the latest version of gstreamer and the mp3 plugins then register from a terminal:

$ gst-register-0.8

If not then replace 0.8 with your version number.
