sound missing
 

Hi everybody,

I have the following setup :

athlon xp 1800 , ati 7500 radeon , msi kt3 ultra mainboard with via 8233.

I used to run mandy 8.2, and never get ac 97 sound working.

I upgraded to 9.2 recently, but still not working ( mandrake control center can detect it ).

I changed so many times modules, that now i am lost !!

Can somebody with the same hardware help me ?

Hi,

This might help you out....

Go to your Mandrake Control Centre:
->Hardware
-> HardDrake lists and help you to set up your hardware.
*Click on your soundcard
*Click on: Run config tool
*Then choose the driver: i810_audio
*OK!

Your soundcard should work now.
If not you can test it in kcontrol (the KDE control centre) -> sound system (choose start aRts soundserver on KDE startup).

Sorry, still no sound.

I have messed so many times with modules, that maybe something is wrong.

Can somebody with the same hardware, give me his own modules.

try intalling alsa drivers, they have more hardware support, http://www.alsa-project.org/

I already installed alsa drivers, but i am not sure enough if the modified module conf is working properly.

I have an error message at boot, and the more i try changing module conf.
the less it works.
