sound juicer an mp3

Hi

My Problem is: I can't select the audio-profile "MPEG Layer 3 audio" in sound-juicer. If I select edit - preferences in sound juicer the output format "MPEG Layer 3 audio" is shown but if I choose it an error box show me "The currently selected audio profile is not available on your installation" and I was asked to change the profile or to quit.

Here is what I installed.
I have a fresh arch linux with gnome 3.8.2 and the gstreamer0.10-plugins base, good, bad and ugly. I've installed lame (installing toolame or twolame doesn't change anything) My sound-juicer version is 3.5.0.
Using totem I can play mp3 songs.

Any suggestions?

Get LAME

http://lame.sourceforge.net/

Despite the old naming (LMAE = LAME Aint an MP3 Encoder) it is an encoder, unlike gstreamer which is (normally) just a decoder.

ok, but what to do to get the mp3 encoder work with sound-juicer?

Same with fedora 18.
Does sound-juicer has a bug? Is there another cool sound-ripper with a gui?

Updated from gstreamer0.10 to gstreamer1 in fedora18 solves the problem. I'll go on to try in arch linux... (this will take a bit longer)

ok! In arch linux it works too, if I install gstreamer1.

So YOU NEED TO INSTALL GSTREAMER 1 TO GET SOUND-JUICER 3.5 WORK!

mp3 profile not available in sound juicer

I am having the same problem as the original poster.

I have Fedora 20, and have installed Sound Juicer 3.5.0-5. I have gstreamer 0.10 and gstreamer1. Good, bad, and ugly codecs are installed. Lame is installed. I can extract with FLAC, but mp3 gives me an error message about that profile not being available. I've looked at the previous posts in this thread, and I have done all of the suggestions, with no effect.

Can you help?

Thanks.

This may be obvious to most, but I found that installing package ubuntu-restricted-extras solved this problem for SoundJuicer 3.24.
