Here is a little more info.

Running update-modules...
Loading driver...
Usage: /etc/init.d/alsa {unload|reload|force-unload|force-reload|suspend|resume}
Setting default volumes...
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such device

Now ALSA is ready to use.
For adjustment of volumes, use your favorite mixer.

Have a lot of fun!
This is what I get after alsaconf.
Is it trying to say I have no device??
What steps can I take to find out??
Any help is appreciated. I am new but willing to learn.
