Sound editor?
Hi there!
Does someone know a good Linux-soundeditor ... in the style of CoolEdit (not 2k) or Wavelab or something like that?
I mean, real Linux ... don't want wine
Thanks, Sascha

The closest thing I've found is ardour. Its not very stable yet and doesn't have all the functionality that CoolEdit pro has but its a start. Their is a lot of linux audio software out there. Do I search on this site for 'home recording'. You'll find some usefull threads.

Hi there!
Thanks for your answer, but... this is exactly what I NOT wanted :-)
Don't need all this HR stuff... just a good wav-editor .. like the old CoolEdit ... or Wavelab, like I said.
I saw Audacity.. is it good?
Greetings, Sascha

I highly recommend Gnome Wave Cleaner, it is very stable and works well with large files. However, it is geared toward the restoration of old vinyl records, and may not have features like reverse. If you try it, please stave off madness and make sure you read the simple GWC help page about selecting regions.
