sound driver

hi! i'm triyng to install some sound card drivers on my Linu SuSE 8.1 but the files that it has on the directory are:

Config.in
Confirgure.help
Makefile
cmpci
cmpci.c
readme

i did read the the readme file and its says that i should backup the Config.in
and the Makefile in the sound driver directory usr/src/linux/drivers/sound.

thisdirectory doesn't exist.

the driver is mented to configure a C-media 8738 pci the drivervedrsion is the 5.69 and my kernel is the 2.4.19

can someone help me?

You must install the kernel-source packages from your distro's CDs, so that you can compile stuff like drivers, apps etc.
