Sound card problems with suse 7.3
 

I recently installed Suse 7.3 and have been unable to get my sound card working. The sound card is a Aureal Vortex 2 (au8830). I have tried the steps on the suse support page with no results. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

I had a similar problem in my 7.3 install with a different sound card.
It seemed to see it ok but no noise.
Open kmix and alsamixer.
One shows your sound level settings and the other allows you to adjust the various channels.
I tweaked and it worked.

Him... I havea SB live 5.1 MP3 and did not have any problmes at all. I belive I first installed 7.1, upgraded to 7.2 then to 7.3....
